dc.description.abstract Background: Amputation, frequently resulting from disease, injury, or conflict, presents considerable physical, psychological, and social challenges that significantly impact individuals' Quality of Life (QOL). The utilization of prosthetics enhances psychological well-being; however, challenges pertaining to mobility and employment continue to be significant concerns. In nations such as Bangladesh, the availability of rehabilitation services is severely restricted, underscoring the necessity for enhanced support systems. Aim: The study aims to identify the level of participation restriction in occupational activity among prosthesis users with lower limb amputation. Methods: A cross-sectional quantitative study design was used in the study. Ninety seven respondents were selected by purposive sampling based on inclusion criteria. Data was collected by World Health Organization Disability Assessment Schedule 2.0 scored 0-100; which have been confined into 5 categories (no disability: 0-4%, mild:5 24%, moderate:25-49%, sever:50-95%, and extreme disability: 96-100%)(Castro et al., 2021). Data was analyzed using Statistical Package for the Social Science (SPSS) software version 20.0, analyzing descriptive analysis. Results: Out of 98 persons with lower limb amputation 87.6% (n=85) are male and 12.4% (n=12) are female. The majority of persons with LLA face moderate impairment in social participation (Mean 37.50); following mild level of impairment is present in getting around (mean 6.25), household activities (mean 10), and professional/school activities (mean 7.14). Conclusion: Limitations in mobility, social participation, and life activity participation are affecting the productivity of persons with LLA with prosthesis in Bangladesh. It indicates that only having prosthesis cannot make a person with LLA independent in life but it can improve functioning.
