dc.description.abstract Introduction: Pelvic floor disorder is a common problem among postpartum women. It consists of urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, fecal incontinence and many more. Purpose: The purpose of this study to explore the association of various factors with pelvic floor disorder. Objectives: Determine the prevalence of the group of pelvic floor disorders and the factors associated with the development of these disorders in postpartum women. Main objectives are to identify the common socio-demographic pictures of the patients during postpartum period, to find out the common pelvic floor disorder symptoms among the patients during postpartum period, to find out the pelvic floor and associated factors among the patients during postpartum period and to find out the specific the prevalence of pelvic floor and associated factors among postpartum women. Methodology: This study was conducted among postpartum women who have come to the hospital for various problems. Total 45 patients were taken in this research on the basis of inclusion and exclusion criteria. It was a cross sectional study to find out the prevalence of pelvic floor and associated factors among postpartum women. It was found to be an appropriate design to reach the goal. Cross-sectional studies assess exposure and health effects in a particular population and area during a specified time period. Furthermore, this research was both cost-effective and time-efficient for the researcher compared to conducting an experimental study. Results: The findings of this study were carried out by independent chi square test and p-value calculation which indicates association with various factors. Among the 45 participants 11.11% (n=5) participants did not have any problem, 2.22% were having pain in pelvic organ, 75.56% had weakness of the pelvic floor muscle and 11.11% had paraesthesia or numbness in toes. Conclusion: This study concluded that the prevalence of pelvic floor dysfunction in women is high. Various factors such as age, family support, birth type etc. are associated with it which should be taken care of to prevent these disorders.
