Abstract:
Background: Worldwide, the throughput of patients being treated by orthotic service has
been on the rise. One method of exploring patients’ awareness regarding the services
rendered to them is to assess their satisfaction with the services provided. Moreover, an
irreplaceable component of evidence-based practice is moving patients’ preferences into
practice. This is how such information can be used in practice to improve the quality of
services. Objectives: this work aims at finding level of satisfaction of perception of
Orthotic services in the individuals with physical disability. Methodology: A cross
sectional study has been done with a total of 178 subjects have participated in this study.
A purposive sampling method is selected for sample. Data collection: OPUS
questionnaire was used, for analysing the data it was used SPSS 22. Result and
discussion: The total median value of satisfaction related to device was 55. Here, the
satisfaction with the device based on gender, age groups, disability condition, type of
device and using time of device is high and almost the same except for gender category.
Except for gender this study does not find a significance between other categories like
disability condition, type of device and using time of device. In analysing the service, the
median value of total satisfaction is 48, the satisfaction with the service in regard to gender,
age groups, disability status, type of device and device using time is also high and almost
alike. Except for gender and age category for satisfaction of device, there is no significant
difference among other categories. So, the satisfaction of device and satisfaction of service shows no significant difference as p value exceeds 0.05 in all the category. Conclusion: Users satisfaction towards orthotic device was very high and the participants were also satisfied towards the orthotics service. The other feedback is an area of improvement and
a good experience from orthotic service patients can also give in a different category should be increases, through improving orthotic service in a good way the patient can be benefited from it in larger extent. Key Words: Orthotics, Rehabilitation, Awareness, Physical Disability
