| dc.description.abstract | Teachers are one of the crucial part of the multidisciplinary team as they are one of the main communication partners of children with stuttering. Views of teachers toward stuttering and children who stutter are therefore very monumental as views are likely to influence behavior. Determining the views of teachers toward stuttering will help speech and language therapist to develop and implement professional development programs just only for teachers if they need. The primary purpose of the study is to know the views of teachers toward stuttering related their beliefs, reactions, feelings, classroom management in the context of Bangladesh. Additionally the study has identified the knowledge, training need etc. The study has described the socio demographic characteristics of the study. The study was quantitative type in nature and conducted by using cross – sectional survey method at Dhaka city and Baraigram Upazilla of Natore district. Number of the participants of the study was 196 and they were selected using purposive sampling. Data of the study was collected by using a semi-structured “Teachers Attitude Toward Stuttering Survey” (TATS) questionnaire. Result of the study indicated an overall positive views toward stuttering. Teachers were very likely to help children with stuttering although they had lack of knowledge, education and training. They had demonstrated inadequate knowledge about strategy of classroom management. They recognized that they had significant role in the management of student with stuttering. They believed that children with stuttering are equally capable like children with non-stuttering. Key words: Views, Stuttering, Teacher | en_US |
