Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the status of mental resilienceonpatients with spinal cord injury during the COVID-19 pandemic attending at CRP. Objectives: The objectives of this study were to find out socio-demographiccharacteristics related to mental resilience, to examine the prevalence of the level ofmental resilience, to know whether there has been any association betweenmental
resilience and socio- demographic information among SCI participants. Methodology:The cross-sectional study was chosen to carry out this study among 114 participantswho were selected according to inclusion criteria from July 2021 to October 2021. All
data were collected through a standard structured questionnaire havingsocio-demographic, & The "Brief Resilience Scale" (BRS), this used to assess the Mental
Resilience among 114 participants. A statistical test has been conducted as per thedistribution of data. The quantitative descriptive analysis was performed by mean, SD, frequency, and percentage. The inferential statistical has been calculatedbyindependent t-test, one-way ANOVA, chi-square, and person correlation test. Linearregression has been performed by mental resilience as a predictor variable, here thep-value was set as <.05. Results: Among 114 participants who survivors the SCI intheCOVID-19 pandemic, their overall age Mean ± SD was (33.91 ± 12.506). Amongthem prevalence of the level of mental resilience were low = 66.7%, normal =23.7%& high=9.6% (MD=2.5919 ± 0.86610). Statistically significant association alsofoundin between Mental Resilience & some of socio- demographic informationsuchasduration of injury [(P<.001), 95% CI (1.992, 2.431), (β =.403)], Residential area[(P<.01), 95% CI (1.947, 2.517), (β=.272)], monthly income (P<.01, 95%CI =2.246, 2.833), severity of injury [(P<.05), 95% CI (2.297, 2.660), (β =.228)]. Conclusion:Spinal cord injury is a condition that influences physical and psychological health. Spinal cord injury negatively can decrease mental resilience.
